Gov. Daugaard Seeks Individual Assistance for Tornado Damage
Gov. Dennis Daugaard has requested a Presidential Disaster Declaration to help South Dakotans whose homes and businesses were damaged by a tornado and severe storm event May 10 in Douglas and Charles Mix counties. That includes the city of Delmont, which was heavily damaged by a tornado.
Cultural Heritage Center Participating in Blue Star Museums Program
The South Dakota Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre is participating in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2015.
Mickelson Trail Hosts Trolley on the Trail Events
PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks will host this year’s first Trolley on the Trail event June 2. The event uses a trolley to give people with impaired mobility the opportunity to enjoy the beauties of South Dakota’s George S. Mickelson Trail.
