MANY SOUTH DAKOTA COUNTIES EXPERIENCE VISITOR SPENDING GROWTH IN 2017
In 2017, visitor spending in South Dakota reached $3.85 billion, resulting in $2.59 billion in GDP and more than $290 million in state and local tax revenue. It was the eighth straight year of record growth in the state. A recent analysis shows that more than half of the counties in South Dakota saw an increase in visitor spending over 2016.


SOUTH DAKOTA DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM WINS EIGHT AWARDS AT ANNUAL ADVERTISING COMPETITION
The South Dakota Department of Tourism was recognized eight times during the 52nd ADDY Awards, an annual awards show hosted by the South Dakota Advertising Federation (SDAF). The winners were announced at the ADDY Awards ceremony, which was held Friday, Feb. 23, in Downtown Sioux Falls.


SD Businesses Recognized for Outstanding Customer Service
The South Dakota Department of Tourism has recognized 141 businesses and organizations across 44 communities in South Dakota for their outstanding customer service.
