Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input into the I-90 Exit 406 SD11 Splitrock Boulevard Interchange Study
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the city of Brandon, will hold a public open house from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mon. Jan. 23, 2017, at the Holiday Inn Express Convention Center, 1103 N Splitrock Boulevard, Sioux Falls, to inform area residents of the beginning of the study and begin receiving public input on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the I-90 Exit 406 (SD11 / Splitrock Boulevard) Interchange.


I-90 Exit 14 Lane Closure and Opening the New Bridge
The South Dakota Department of Transportation says that eastbound I-90 will be reduced to one-lane between the off and on ramps at Exit 14 on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017. This is being done so the contractor can transport concrete barriers onto the new bridge.


Department of Transportation & City of Pierre Seek Public Input into Northeast Pierre Master Transportation Plan Study
The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in collaboration with the city of Pierre, will hold a public open house as part of the Northeast Pierre Master Transportation Plan. This open house public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2017, in the gymnasium at Kennedy Elementary School (2306 Brookstone Loop) in Pierre.


Illegally Dumped Snow Can Cause Problems
The South Dakota Department of Transportation reminds the public and commercial snow removal operators that it is illegal to place or dump excess snow on highway right of way, which includes driving surfaces, shoulders and ditches.

Interstate 90 Reopened Rapid City to Vivian Fully open to traffic
State officials have reopened I-90 in both directions from Rapid City to Vivian. I-90 is now completely open to traffic, but motorists are cautioned that winter driving conditions still exist.

Interstate 90 Reopened Wyoming Border to Rapid City
State officials have reopened I-90 in both directions from the Wyoming border to Rapid City in western South Dakota. I-90 from Rapid City to Vivian (both directions) remains closed until further notice. I-90 was reopened in both directions from Vivian to Chamberlain earlier.

State officials have reopened Interstate 90 from Vivian to Chamberlain in central South Dakota. Motorists are cautioned that icy, snow-packed roads and strong winds are still creating difficult travel conditions along I-90, especially in western South Dakota.


Interstate 90 Closed From Wyoming Border to Vivian
State officials have closed Interstate 90, east and westbound, between the Wyoming border and Vivian effective immediately. Officials will be closing Interstate 90 from Vivian to Chamberlain at 7 p.m. CST. The temperature is expected to drop below freezing, and along with snow and strong winds, as travel will be treacherous during the overnight hours.


Highway 81 and 20th Avenue SE Four-Way Stop Functioning
The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the all-way stop at the intersection at Highway 81 and 20th Avenue SE in Watertown is now fully functional.


I-90 – Exit 14 – Colorado Blvd Opening to Traffic
he South Dakota Department of Transportation says that Colorado Boulevard will open the new eastbound lane and turn lanes to traffic on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Traffic will continue to be one lane each direction.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says storm drain repairs are taking place at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard (Highway 44) and Canyon Lake Drive in Rapid City.

Main Street Intersection Work in Sturgis
On Monday, Nov. 28, the intersections of Fourth and Main Street and Harley Davidson Way and Main Street will close to allow crews to reconstruct these intersections.
