Department of Transportation Seeks Public Input into the I-29 Exit 77 (41st Street) Interchange Study
The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the Sioux Falls Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the City of Sioux Falls, will hold a public open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center, (1201 North West Avenue) to inform area residents of the status and preliminary recommendations of the interchange and environmental study for the I-29 Exit 77 (41st Street) Interchange.


Rice Street and Timberline Avenue Intersection Traffic Delay
The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be stopping traffic at the Rice Street and Timberline Avenue intersection in Sioux Falls on Saturday, May 6. Flaggers stationed near the intersection will be directing traffic to allow for grading operations on the new Rice Street alignment.


471st Avenue Closing North of Highway 48 for Bridge Replacement
South Dakota Department of Transportation officials say 471st Avenue (Union County Highway 1C), located four miles north of Highway 48, will be closed to through traffic starting Wednesday, May 10, 2017.


Construction on Highway 18 East of Pine Ridge
The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work on eight miles of Highway 18 from nine miles east of Pine Ridge at the intersection of BIA Highway 27 (Wounded Knee Corner) to 17 miles east of Pine Ridge to the intersection of Highway 391 (Gordon Junction) will begin Monday, May 8.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work on three miles of Highway 391 from the intersection of Highway 18 (Gordon Junction), 17 miles east of Pine Ridge, south to the Nebraska state line will begin Monday, May 1.

Bridge Improvement Grant Recipients Announced
The South Dakota Transportation Commission awarded 53 Bridge Improvement Grants (BIG) for a total of approximately $9 million at their monthly meeting today (April 27) in Pierre.


Traffic Changes on Burr Street in Mitchell
T&R Contracting, Inc., a contractor for the South Dakota Department of Transportation, is continuing shoulder work on Burr Street in Mitchell from Havens Avenue to Interstate 90. The shoulder is being widened so it can be utilized to carry southbound traffic during the reconstruction of the current northbound lanes.
