Governor Announces State Conservation Commission Appointments

PIERRE, S.D. -Governor Dennis Daugaard has reappointed three individuals to the State Conservation Commission.

They include David Fischbach of Faith, Alan Vedvei of Lake Preston, and Thomas Glover of Burke.

Fischbach serves as the Farmer Area III representative and Vedvei serves as the Farmer-at-Large representative. Glover serves as the representative from the Water Development Districts.

“These appointees bring a wealth of experiences to the Conservation Commission,” said South Dakota Secretary of Agriculture Walt Bones.  “David, Alan, and Tom’s experiences on the Commission and knowledge of the conservation practices have been invaluable during their tenure on the commission.”

Fischbach, Vedvei, and Glover will serve with six others on the State Conservation Commission.  Their terms will expire on Jan. 1, 2015.

The Commission, which has administrative oversight of South Dakota’s 69 Conservation Districts, is charged with overseeing the development and implementation of the State Coordinated Plan and setting natural resources policy.
