            Gregory County Fatal Crash

 

What: One-vehicle fatal crash

When: Tuesday, June 5, 2012, 9:15 a.m.

Where: SD Highway 44, mile post 283, Gregory County

 

Driver:  Carissa M. Poppe, 21, Hastings, NE, fatal

Vehicle: 2009 Ford F250 pickup

 

GREGORY COUNTY, S.D. – A Nebraska woman died in a single vehicle crash near mile post 283 on S.D. Highway 44 in Gregory County on Tuesday, June 5.

 

Carissa M. Poppe, 21, of Hastings, Neb., was the driver of a 2009 Ford F250 pickup that left the roadway, crossed from the south ditch back into the north ditch and rolled. Poppe was wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to a Burke hospital where she was pronounced dead.

 

No further information is immediately available.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Gregory County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
