            Gregory County Fatal Crash

 

What: One-vehicle fatal crash

When: Sunday, July 1, 2012, 2:30 a.m.

Where: SD Highway 47, six miles north of Gregory, SD

 

Driver:  Katie Lou Kolbe, 19, Gregory, SD, fatal

Vehicle: 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

 

GREGORY, S.D. – A Gregory woman died in a single vehicle crash near on S.D. Highway 47 about six miles north of Gregory on Sunday, July 1.

 

Katie Lou Kolbe, 19, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Highway 47 when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle went into the east ditch and then slid back across the highway and into the west ditch, where it rolled. Kolbe, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

No further details are immediately available.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Gregory County Sheriff’s Office assisted.
