               Sully County Fatal Crash

 

What: Two-vehicle fatal crash

Where: Intersection of 191^st Street and 297^th Avenue, Sully County, 6 miles south and 6 miles west of Onida, SD

When: Saturday, June 30, 2012,  4:40 p.m.

 

Driver 1: Joe Robert Goddard, 60, Onida, SD, minor injuries

Vehicle 1: Case IH SPX3185 Sprayer

 

Driver 2: Chris Michael Huse, 63, Onida, SD, fatal

Vehicle 2: 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

 

ONIDA, S.D. – An Onida man died in a two vehicle crash southwest of Onida on Saturday, June 30.

 

Joe Robert Goddard, 60, was driving northbound on 297^th Avenue in a farm Case IH sprayer. A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Chris Michael Huse, 63, of Onida was westbound on 191^st Street. The Case IH sprayer driven by Goddard had stopped at the stop sign prior to entering the intersection. The vehicles collided in the intersection of 297^th Avenue and 191^st Street.

 

Huse died at the scene. Goddard received minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

 

 

The crash remains under investigation. No further information is immediately available.

 

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Sully County Sheriff’s Office, Sully County Fire and Ambulance Service assisted.
