Hill City To Be Capital For A Day
PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that Hill City has been chosen to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day on Aug. 1.
“I look forward to the Hill City event, and thank community leaders for offering to host it,” the Governor said. “It’s an excellent opportunity for me to get better acquainted with them and more informed about local issues and the future of the Hill City area.”
Gov. Daugaard and a small delegation of state officials will have a coffee and constituent hour and tour Hill City on the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 1. Roundtable meetings with business and community leaders will also be held.
“Hill City, home of the finest South Dakota art galleries, museums, lodging, recreation, unique shops, wineries, restaurants and attractions, welcomes Gov. Daugaard, the First Lady, and staff for Capital for a Day”, said Mayor Dave Gray. “August 1st will be a monumental experience for everyone in the Heart of the Black Hills!”
A complete agenda will be released at a later date.
