Pennington County Fatal Crash
What: One-vehicle fatal crash
Where: Interstate 90, mile marker 123, 13 miles east of Wall, SD
When: Thursday, July 12, 2012, 3:00 a.m.
Driver: Joseph Andrew Graff, 22, Moorcroft, WY, serious non-life threatening injuries
Passenger 1: Amy Pehringer, 21, Moorcroft, WY, serious non-life threatening injuries
Passenger 2: Travis Graff, 3 months, Moorcroft, WY, fatal
Passenger 3: Jayden Pehringer, 3 years, Moorcroft, WY, serious, non-life threatening injuries
Vehicle 1: 2004 Ford F-250 pickup
WALL, S.D. – A one-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 east of Wall early Thursday, July 12, resulted in the death of a 3-month-old Wyoming infant and serious injuries to three other people.
Joseph Andrew Graff, 22, of Moorcroft, Wyo., was westbound on I-90, driving a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup when he entered the median. He attempted to bring the vehicle back onto the roadway, and it rolled. Graff’s 3-month old son, Travis, was in a car seat behind the driver. He suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Graff suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries, as did front-seat passenger Amy Pehringer, 21, of Moorcroft, and Jayden Pehringer, 3. All were wearing seatbelts.
No further information is immediately available.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and fire departments from Wall, Philip and Interior assisted.
