Brown County Fatal Crash
What: One-vehicle fatal crash
When: Sunday, July 22, 2012, 5:52 p. m.
Where: 410th Ave and 119th St, one mile south, three-fourths east of Claremont, SD
Driver: Jordan Lee Hanson, 12, Claremont, SD, fatal
Vehicle: 2011 Arctic Cat 700 Ranger
CLAREMONT, S.D. – A Claremont youth died Sunday, July 22, when the all-terrain vehicle he was driving crashed into a slough that was beside a rural road southeast of Claremont.
Jordan Lee Hanson, 12, was driving a 2011 Arctic Cat 700 Ranger along a slough when he lost control on the gravel road. The vehicle went into the water and overturned. The youth died at the scene.
No further information is immediately available.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Groton Police Department, Aberdeen Ambulance and Claremont Fire and Rescue assisted.
