Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

 

Monday, April 28, 1 – 1:15 p.m. CDT, Pierre, Capitol Building, Governor’s Reception Area – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will sign a proclamation declaring May “Beef Month” in South Dakota to show support to the state’s ranchers and beef industry. Monday, April 28, 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. CDT, Pierre – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be planting the “Red Bud” tree at the Pierre Arbor Day Program in the Governor’s Grove in Hilgers Gulch in Pierre.

 

Monday, April 28, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. CDT, Pierre – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak and present certificates of recognition at the Academic Excellence Recognition Luncheon at the Ramkota in Pierre.

Tuesday, April 29, 9 a.m. 4 p.m. CDT, Mitchell – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be hosting a Workforce Summit at Mitchell Technical Institute. The Summit will engage state, community, business and education leaders about South Dakota’s workforce challenges and opportunities through panel discussions and breakout groups. It will provide a forum to discuss current programs, learn about workforce demographic trends and offer feedback on potential future strategies. The Summit is free and open to the public. Monday, April 28, 3 p.m. CDT A building committee of the South Dakota Board of Regents will meet by teleconference to approve bid documents for the Jonas Science Renovation Project at Black Hills State University. Tuesday, April 29, to Wednesday, April 30, Pierre DENR staff will host two days of Visible Emission Evaluation Certification at the National Guard Armory, 3400 East Highway 34 in Pierre. The free “Spring Smoke School” field certification is open to those from industry, municipalities, consultants or anyone who would like to be certified to evaluate visible emissions (smoke/dust).  Smoke School certification must be repeated every six months.
