Summer allows friends and family to reminisce about the past, build on traditions and create lasting memories. A remarkable and rare opportunity is coming to our backyard. The 25th Annual National Red Power Round Up will be held on June 26-28 at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds in Huron.
The show alternates between eastern and western U.S., with South Dakota being as far west as it has ever been. The three day event will be attended from all across the nation, and even internationally.
The Red Power Round Up is an annual celebration for people from all around the world to learn about International Harvester’s history and see agriculture-related memorabilia. Along with an impressive selection of tractors, engines, trucks and equipment, attendees can also browse exhibits including household appliances, milking equipment and toy collections.
This is a rare opportunity for South Dakotans to experience how American agriculture was shaped. The first International Harvester Farmall tractor ever sold will be displayed along with an exhibit showcasing tractors from 1914, 1939, 1964, 1989 and present. Dealerships will be honored in a Six Decades of Dealership Display.
Other Round Up highlights include a flea market, quilt trunk show and contest, kids’ activities, steak and chicken feed, entertainment on the Midway Roadhouse and NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage, special presentations from Rodney Miller, owner and host of “Small Town, Big Deal” television show, a daily parade and much more.
For those loyal to red, this event no doubt provides a walk down memory lane.
