HURON, S.D. – The South Dakota State Fair has announced its 2016 State Fair theme – “Thrills, Squeals and Ferris Wheels.”

“There are a lot of thrilling experiences to have at the fair, from riding rides to showing your cattle to taking in your favorite concert. You know you are at the SD State Fair when you hear squeals of excitement, whether it’s from seeing your fair friends or from kids having the time of their lives on the carnival rides,” said State Fair Director Peggy Besch. “This year’s theme takes a fun, whimsical approach on packaging the fair as a whole experience.”

People come to the fair each year for a variety of reasons, with livestock shows, 4-H exhibits, carnival rides and entertainment being at the top of the list. This year’s theme reiterates the variety of events held at the fair and generates excitement around the experience that is signature to the fair.

An updated State Fair logo has also been designed and can be viewed on the SDDA multimedia page. Find information about all of the happenings at the SD State Fair at www.sdstatefair.com
