Career Exploration Opportunity Grant Awarded

PIERRE, S.D. – The Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DRS) and Service to the Blind and Visually Impaired (SBVI) have awarded the Career Exploration Opportunity Grant to the Center for Independence in Huron.

The grant funding will provide vocational rehabilitation clients job preparation information, job shadowing and opportunities to experience various jobs within business.

Career Exploration Opportunity will be highlighted during an eight day training session beginning on June 6th.  Employers participating will speak to classes about their business, job shadowing opportunities, employer expectations, and offer a tour of their business.

DRS and SBVI established the Career Exploration Opportunity Grant to collaborate with employers to provide individuals with disabilities opportunities to gain work experience and exposure.
