Governor to Speak at Disability Employment Awareness Seminar

Governor to Speak at Disability Employment Awareness Seminar

 

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be one of the guest speakers at a seminar aimed to educate employers about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities, steps to take when hiring people with disabilities and resources that are available to assist employers in the process on Oct. 6.

 

The Inclusion Works for Businessseminar will be held at the Capital University Center’s Auditorium located at 925 E Sioux Ave, Pierre, SD from 8 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

The South Dakota Board of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Board of Service to the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Statewide Independent Living Council is sponsoring the seminar.

 

On Sept. 20, Gov. Daugaard proclaimed October Disability Employment Awareness Month in South Dakota. The seminar is one of several events planned during the state’s observance that supports and promotes employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
