Monday, Jan. 16, 9 a.m. CST, Aberdeen Gov. Dennis Daugaard will present his 2017 State of the State Address at the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast at the Dakota Events Center.

 

Monday, Jan. 16, 12 p.m. CST, Sioux Falls Gov. Dennis Daugaard will present his 2017 State of the State Address at the Sioux Falls Downtown Rotary Luncheon at the Holiday Inn Downtown.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 17, to Thursday, Jan. 19, Pierre, Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center – The South Dakota Department of Tourism will host the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism, Jan. 17-19, at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Pierre. The conference will feature expert-led sessions on a variety of topics, including customer service, social media, tourism industry research and trends, marketing and industry best practices. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 8:30 a.m. CST, Huron, Crossroads Convention Center, 100 Fourth St. S.W. DENR staff will be among speakers during an environmental training session for operators of concentrated animal feeding operations. The training fulfills the training requirement for producers to obtain a state water pollution control permit for concentrated animal feeding operations. Training includes information on proper manure management and how to comply with the state permit. Producers not needing a permit may also be interested in attending to learn about manure management practices that protect water quality.
