Saturday, Jan. 28, 8 a.m. CST, Ft. Pierre Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the 2017 South Dakota Lions Convention which is being held at the AmericInn, Ft. Pierre.

 

Tuesday, Jan. 31, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. MST, Spearfish – The Department of Social Services’ Board of Social Work Examiners will hold a teleconference board at 625 Main St. and at Family Service Inc., 2210 W. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 3 p.m. CST, Pierre The South Dakota Board of Regents and the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry will hold a legislative briefing to release results of a research study measuring the impact of South Dakota’s six public universities on the state economy. The briefing is open to the public in Room 414 of the State Capitol Building. (Please note this briefing will begin at 3 p.m. or immediately after the legislative session adjourns, if the session concludes later than 3 p.m.) Public and media access also is available by livestream (audio only) through The South Dakota Network at http://www.sd.net/room414/.

Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. MST, Rapid City – A Resume Tips and Tricks class will be conducted during the HIRED Job Fair at the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, Civic Center, Rooms 204 and 205. There were will be several employers in attendance to meet with applicants interested in working for them. DLR will have a booth with staff available to answer any questions or offer assistance to job seekers. For questions or additional information, please call 605-394-2296. 

 

Wednesday, Feb. 1 – The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation will host Job Search Assistance Program (JSAP). JSAP is a workshop for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills. Trained instructors speak on modern-day techniques used to successfully find employment.
