Tourism Department Wins Regional Marketing Awards

 

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Advertising Federation has recognized the work of the South Dakota Department of Tourism and its advertising agency, Lawrence & Schiller, with four ADDY Awards for advertising excellence in the 2017 awards competition.

 

Awards received were in the following categories:

 

Gold

Shoulder/pheasant hunting season magazine “Take Me Hunting” advertisement

Silver

“Mount Rushmore 75th Anniversary” magazine advertisement

Chicago Wallscapes out-of-home marketing

Southdale Mall takeover out-of-home marketing

“The work we do isn’t about winning awards, but acknowledgement like this validates the time, energy and thought that are put into our campaigns” said Jim Hagen, Secretary of the Department of Tourism. “The ultimate pay-off is the economic impact of tourism on our state’s economy. When our work can both win awards and drive visitation and visitor spending, we know we are successful.”
