Sunday, April 2, 1 p.m. CDT, Sioux Falls, South Dakota Air National Guard, East Hanger, Building 40 – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the deployment ceremony for the 125 airmen in the 114th Fighter Wing.

 

Thursday, April 6, 8 a.m. MDT, Deadwood – Lt. Gov. Matt Michels will open the Region 5 National Association of Interpretation conference on April 6 at 8 a.m. at the Days of ’76 Museum.

 

Monday, April 3 1:30 p.m. CDT, Pierre The South Dakota Weed & Pest Control Commission will be holding a meeting in the SDSU Regional Extension Center, 412 W. Thursday, April 6 – Friday, April 7 – Beginning April 6 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ (GFP) Commission will meet at the Ramkota Convention Center in Watertown. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CDT discussing the finalizations of March's meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders – the people of South Dakota. The Commission meets monthly (except for February and August) and consists of eight members; which are appointed by the Governor for four year terms. Thursday, April 6– 7, North Sioux City – The Department of Labor and Regulation will hold Rapid Response meetings for the closure of Alorica in North Sioux City on May 28. These meetings will be held at the Alorica facility and will include support from Vermillion, Aberdeen, Pierre, IA Workforce, and IA JTP. Local staff will also organize an onsite career fair for the approximately 250 Alorica Employees who will be affected by the closure, date and time to be determined at a later date.
