May Sobriety Checkpoints Scheduled

 

PIERRE, S.D. –  South Dakota’s Highway Patrol plans to hold 23 sobriety checkpoints during May.

 

The checkpoints are designed to discourage people from drinking and then driving. All told, checkpoints are scheduled to be held in 19 counties during the month.

 

May checkpoints are planned for the counties of Beadle, Brookings, Brown, Butte, Charles Mix, Clay, Codington, Day, Hamlin, Lawrence, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Roberts, Stanley, Sully, Tripp and Union.

 

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
