Highway Patrol Announces June Sobriety Checkpoint Schedule

 

PIERRE, S.D. –  June’s schedule of sobriety checkpoints has been announced by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

 

The checkpoints, held in different counties each month, are designed to discourage people from drinking and then driving. The schedule calls for 28 checkpoints to be held in 19 counties during June.

 

Checkpoints are planned for the counties of Butte, Charles Mix, Codington, Day, Edmunds, Fall River, Hughes, Jackson, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lawrence, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Roberts, Sanborn, Walworth and Yankton.

 

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
