Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

Monday, July 10, 9 a.m. MDT, Rapid City – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the 2017 Council of Chief State School Officers Summer Leadership Conference at the Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza in Rapid City.

Monday, July 10, 1 p.m. CDT – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be a guest on KGFX (1060 AM) South Dakota Perspective with Mark Swartzell.

Tuesday, July 11, 9:30 a.m. CDT – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will be a guest on KXLG 99.1 FM with David Law.

Thursday, July 13, to Saturday, July 15,  Providence, RI – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will attend the National Governors Association summer meeting in Providence, Rhode Island.

Wednesday, July 12 to Thursday, July 13, Aberdeen – Lt. Governor Matt Michels will speak on July 13 at the 2017 Governor’s Agricultural Summit Ag Ambassador Award Luncheon. The 8th Annual Governor’s Agricultural Summit, hosted by the South Dakota Department of Agriculture, will be held at the Dakota Event Center in Aberdeen. The summit will feature tours of innovative agricultural locations on July 12. Discussions on animal health, the current and future agricultural economy, succession planning and innovative South Dakota agriculture businesses will be held on July 13.

Monday, July 10, 11 a.m. CDT – The Department of Environment and Natural Resource’s Board of Water and Natural Resources will meet via teleconference. Tuesday, July 11, 1-3 p.m. CDT, Sioux Falls – The Core Workforce Partners quarterly meeting will be held at the Department of Labor and Regulation Sioux Falls Job Service office, 811 E. 10th St. The Sioux Falls Job Service office welcomes Secretary Marcia Hultman for a presentation on recruitment and retention services. Secretary Hultman will speak about today’s labor market, along with the enhanced SDWORKS jobs database, Dakota Roots efforts, apprenticeship and training opportunities, soft skills workshops, and more. Thursday, July 13 to Friday, July 14, Fort Pierre – Beginning July 13 at 1 p.m. CDT, the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks’ Commission will meet at the AmericInn in Fort Pierre. A public hearing will begin at 2 p.m. CDT to discuss the finalizations of June’s meeting. The GFP Commission serves as the advocate and liaison between the department and its stakeholders - the people of South Dakota. The commission meets monthly (except for February and August) and consists of eight members who are appointed by the Governor for four-year terms. JSAP is a workshop for people recovering from job loss or enhancing their job search skills. Trained instructors speak on modern-day techniques used to successfully find employment.
