Gov. Dennis Daugaard’s Public Commitments; Public Meetings:

 

Monday, July 17, 10 a.m. MDT, Mt. Rushmore – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the deployment ceremony for the South Dakota Army National Guard’s 216th Engineer Detachment (Firefighting Team) at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial amphitheater. The Rapid City-based team will depart for a nine-month deployment to Romania. Planned speakers for the ceremony include Gov. Dennis Daugaard, Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender and Maj. Gen. Monday, July 17, 3 p.m. MDT, Rapid City – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the Board of Technical Education meeting at Western Dakota Tech in the Events Center at 800 Mickelson Drive.

 

Tuesday, July 18, Brookings Brookings will be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day. Activities for the day will include a Main Street walk, tours around Brookings and a roundtable meeting.  At 10 a.m. CDT citizens are encouraged to attend the community social being held at Children’s Museum, 521 4th St, where they will have the chance to talk one-on-one with Gov. Dennis Daugaard. First Lady Linda Daugaard will read at the Brookings Public Library at 11 a.m.

 

Wednesday, July 19, 9:30 a.m. CDT, Oacoma – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the SD School Superintendents Association Annual State Conference at Arrowwood/Cedar Shore Resorts, Oacoma.

 

Thursday, July 20, 1 p.m. CDT, Pierre – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak and present a proclamation at the South Dakota Board of Nursing Meeting for their 100th Anniversary. The meeting will take place on the first floor of the State Capitol Building.

 

Friday, July 21, 10 a.m. CDT, Pierre, Capitol Building – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will speak at the South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper graduation ceremony in the Rotunda. For more information, contact Tony Mangan, Department of Public Safety, 605-773-6196.

 

Friday, July 21, 1 p.m. MDT, Lead – Gov. Dennis Daugaard will attend and speak at the groundbreaking for the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility that will support the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead.

 

Monday, July 17, 8 a.m. CDT, Pierre – The South Dakota Board of Education Standards will meet at the Foss Building – Matthew Training Center, 523 E. Capitol Avenue, in Pierre. Monday, July 17, to Tuesday, July 18, Rapid City – The South Dakota Board of Technical Education will hold its first official meeting in Rapid City. On Monday, July 17, the board will meet at 3 p.m. MDT at Western Dakota Technical Institute’s Event Center, 800 Mickelson Drive, Rapid City, for discussion of priorities and issues with Gov. Dennis Daugaard. At 5:30 p.m. MDT, the board will move to Dakota Steakhouse for discussion of issues with the Black Hills Home Builders Association. Tuesday, July 18, to Wednesday, July 19 – Bring Your ‘A’ Game to Work encompasses seven different skills including Appreciation, Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability and Acceptance.
