Name Released in Perkins County Fatal Crash


What:    One-vehicle crash

Where:  180th Avenue, three miles south of Bison, S.D.

When:   9 a.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017


Driver: Saul Montes, 36, Bison, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2003 Chevy Tahoe


BISON, S.D. – A 36-year-old Bison man has been identified as the person who died Saturday in a one-vehicle rollover south of Bison.


Saul Montes was driving a 2003 Chevy Tahoe southbound on 180th Avenue when he lost control. The vehicle went off the roadway.  Montes, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with the assistance of the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office.


The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
