Centerville To Be Capital For A Day

PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard announced today that Centerville has been chosen to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

“I look forward to spending the day in Centerville and becoming better acquainted with those who call the area home and the issues affecting them,” Gov. Daugaard said.

The Governor’s activities for the day will include a Main Street walk, business tours around town, and a community social and coffee hour. The Governor will also hold a roundtable for community leaders to meet and discuss the needs of the city.

“We are proud and delighted to host the Honorable Gov. Dennis Daugaard and First Lady Linda Daugaard for the day. The citizens of Centerville will be given a unique opportunity to show off their town, their businesses, the amenities we have and the revitalization efforts we are working on,” Mayor Terry Clayton said. “Centerville is honored by this selection and looking forward to the day.”

A complete agenda will be released at a later date.
