September Sobriety Checkpoints Announced

 

PIERRE, S.D. –  September’s list of sobriety checkpoints has been announced by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

 

The checkpoints are funded by the Office of Highway Safety and conducted by the Highway Patrol. The checkpoints are designed to discourage people from drinking and then driving

 

There are 21 checkpoints scheduled in 17 counties during September. The checkpoints are scheduled for the counties of: Beadle, Brule, Butte, Charles Mix, Clay, Codington, Hamlin, Hughes, Jackson, Lawrence, Lincoln, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Roberts, Stanley and Walworth.

 

Both the Office of Highway Safety and the Highway Patrol are part of the Department of Public Safety.
