Input Requested on Current Duck Hunting Regulations

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) is currently reaching out to duck hunters asking for input on current hunting season regulations, primarily season dates, bag limits and hunting zone boundaries.

Public meetings that include a short presentation, a question/answer session and a short survey will be held at the following locations:

  • September 13: Lake Andes, Community Center, 6 p.m.
  • September 14: Yankton, Fire Hall #2, 7 p.m.
  • September 19: Brookings, Outdoor Adventure Center, 6 p.m.
  • September 20: Aberdeen, Brown County Sportsmen’s Club, 7 p.m.

For those not able to attend a public meeting, the presentation and survey will be available at gfp.sd.gov/hunting/waterfowl/ducks.aspx. The online survey will be available until November 15.

South Dakota is home to numerous wetlands and waterfowl hunting opportunities. The information obtained from these meetings and results of the survey will be used in developing recommendations for future hunting seasons.
