WALL, S.D. – A Rapid City man has been identified as the person who died early Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash east of Wall.

A 2014 Volvo VNL semi-truck and trailer was eastbound on Interstate 90 when the driver lost control. The driver overcorrected and the tractors and trailer tipped over and blocked both eastbound lanes of I-90.

Both occupants were able to safely get out of the truck before an eastbound 2010 D120 Freightliner, pulling double trailers, collided with the first semi-truck and trailer. The second driver, 65-year-old Clarence Ogle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ouaghzan Brahim, 29, Chicago, IL, was the driver of the first truck. Azad Sadeq, 27, Rosemont, IL, was the passenger.  They

were taken by ambulance to Rapid City Regional Hospital where they were treated and released. Charges are pending against the driver.

Seatbelt use by the three men is under investigation.

Due to a large debris area, the two eastbound lanes were closed to traffic for more than six hours.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Wall Ambulance.

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

Note: Records of state-reportable crashes are now available at http://www.safesd.gov/. Records should be available about 10 days after the investigation is complete.
