Minnehaha County Fatal Crash

 

What:    One-vehicle crash

Where:  Interstate 29, mile marker 79

              Sioux Falls, S.D. City Limits

When:   2:02 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017

 

Driver: Male, 56, Minor Injuries

Passenger: Male, 64, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2007 Ford Econoline E150 Truck

 

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – One person died Monday in a one-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls,

 

Names of the two people are not being released pending notification of family members.

 

A 2007 Ford Econoline E150 truck was northbound on Interstate 29 traveling over the 12th Street Bridge when the vehicle hit ice. The driver lost control, the vehicle went into the east ditch and rolled.

 

The 64-year-old male passenger died of his injuries. The male driver, 56, sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts. No charges are pending against the driver.

 

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were Sioux Falls Police Department, Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue and Paramedics Plus.

 

The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
