Names Released in Minnehaha County Fatal Crash


What:    One-vehicle crash

Where:  Interstate 29, mile marker 79

              Sioux Falls, S.D. City Limits

When:   2:02 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017


Driver: Michael Talbert, 56, Sioux Falls, S.D.,  Minor Injuries

Passenger: Kenneth Dvorak, 64, Fort Pierre, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2007 Ford Econoline E150 Truck


SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A 64-year-old Fort Pierre, S.D., man has been identified as the person died Monday in a one-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls,


A 2007 Ford Econoline E150 truck was northbound on Interstate 29 traveling over the 12th Street Bridge when the driver lost control. The vehicle went into the east ditch and rolled.


Kenneth Dvorak, who was the passenger, died of his injuries. The driver was 56-year-old Michael Talbert of Sioux Falls, who sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts. No charges are pending against the driver.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Other agencies on scene were Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue and Paramedics Plus.


The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
