February Sobriety Checkpoints Scheduled For 15 Counties

 

PIERRE, S.D. –  February’s list of sobriety checkpoints has been announced by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

 

A total of 20 checkpoints in 15 counties are planned during the month.

 

The monthly checkpoints are funded by the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety and conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The checkpoints are designed to discourage people from drinking and then driving. 

 

February checkpoints will be held in the counties of:  Brown, Butte, Charles Mix, Codington, Day, Hughes, Lake, Lawrence, Lincoln, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, Stanley, Tripp and Union.

 

Both the Office of Highway Safety and the Highway Patrol are part of the Department of Public Safety.
