March Sobriety Checkpoints Announced

 

PIERRE, S.D. –  Sobriety checkpoints are scheduled for 17 different counties during March. That is according to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.

 

The checkpoints are held in different counties each month. The checkpoints are funded by the South Dakota Office of Highway Safety and conducted by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. The checkpoints are designed to discourage people from drinking and then driving. 

 

March checkpoints are scheduled for:  Brookings, Brown, Butte, Codington, Custer, Davison, Hughes, Jerauld, Lincoln, Lyman, Meade, Minnehaha, Pennington, Roberts, Stanley, Walworth and Yankton.

 

Both the Office of Highway Safety and the Highway Patrol are part of the Department of Public Safety.
