Culvert Repair Work On Highways 212 and 85

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation says crews are scheduled to begin culvert repair work on highways in the western part of the state on Monday, April 16.


Work will begin on Highway 212 at mile markers 41.5 and 41.9 with work progressing to the following locations:


            Highway 212: mile markers 55.3; 58.8; 66.3 and 69.6

            Highway 212: mile markers 122.2 & 123.9

            Highway 85: mile markers 135.8; 141.4; 147.5; 148.4 & 153.9


This project will have a minimum impact of traffic through the work zones, with most work occurring off the roadway.


Motorists are asked to slow down in work zones and be prepared for suddenly slowing, merging and stopped traffic, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the roadway.


The overall completion date for the project is Nov. 15, 2018.


The prime contractor for the $928,000 project is Mainline Contracting, Inc. of Rapid City.
