“Building South Dakota” exhibit to close at Cultural Heritage Center on April 29

PIERRE, S.D.—Visitors to the Cultural Heritage Center Museum in Pierre have just a few more days to visit the “Building South Dakota” exhibition featuring the built environment on South Dakota landscapes. The exhibition in the museum’s Observation Gallery runs through Sunday, April 29.

“‘Building South Dakota’ proved to be a popular exhibition,” said Museum Director Jay Smith. “Having been on display for nearly 22 months, it was time to rotate exhibitions and give the gallery a new facelift.”

A new carpet is scheduled for installation and the next exhibit entitled “From Jackrabbits to Schmeckfest: The Many Faces of Community Identity in South Dakota” will open in mid-June.

The museum is open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CDT Monday through Saturday and 1-4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Call 605-773-3458 for more information or visit history.sd.gov.
