Names Released in Minnehaha County Fatal Crash


What:    Two-vehicle crash

Where:  South Dakota Highway 115 and 257th Street

               Two miles north of Renner, S.D.

When:    10:40 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018


Driver No. 1: Adam Hannon, 34, Worthing, S.D., Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2002 Chevy Silverado Pickup


Driver No. 2: Nathan Seivert, Renner, S.D., 18, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup


RENNER, S.D. – Names have officially been released of the two people who died Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash north of Renner


A 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was southbound on South Dakota Highway 115 while a 2002 Chevy Silverado pickup was northbound on the same highway. The Dodge vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with the other pickup. Both vehicles started on fire.


Adam Hannon of Worthing, S.D., was the 34-year-old driver of the Silverado. He died in the fire.


Witnesses were able to rescue Nathan Seivert, the 18-year-old driver of the Dodge vehicle. He was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries and died Friday morning.


Seatbelt use by either driver is under investigation.


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.


The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
