Harding County Fatal Crash


What:    One-vehicle crash

Where:  U.S. Highway 85, mile marker 118

               Eight miles south of Buffalo, S.D.

When:   11:13 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018


Driver: Male, 21, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 Pickup


BUFFALO, S.D. – A 21-year-old male died late Wednesday night in a one-vehicle crash south of Buffalo.


Name of the deceased is not being released pending notification of family members. He was the only person involved.


A 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup was northbound on U.S. Highway 85 when the vehicle went into the ditch on the east side of the road, came back onto the roadway, went back into the ditch and rolled.


The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Belle Fourche and later to the Spearfish hospital where he was pronounced dead.                                                    


South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.


The Highway Patrol is part of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
