Highway 37 Project Public Information Meeting in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Foothills Contracting, Inc. of Webster, will hold an open house style public meeting for the Highway 37 project on Tuesday, April 2.


The $7.1 million project will add shoulders to widen the 8.3 miles of Highway 37 from Springfield to one-quarter mile south of Highway 50.


Work is tentatively scheduled to begin the first week in April and includes grading, culvert replacements and extensions, asphalt concrete shoulder surfacing and signing.  The road will remain open during construction with flaggers and pilot cars to maintain traffic.  Delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected during the construction.


The open house public meeting will be held at the Springfield Community Center located at 605 8th street in Springfield at 5:30 p.m. CDT.


The open house will be informal with a short presentation at 5:30 p.m. and staff available to discuss issues and answer your questions regarding the reconstruction project.
