I90 Open- Drivers Cautioned To Lane Closures and Reduced Speeds

For Immediate Release: Saturday, September 14, 2019

Contact: Kristi Sandal, Public Information Officer, 605-773-3265

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Transportation is advising motorists that Interstate 90 is open with reduced speeds, lane closures and flaggers monitoring and guiding traffic.

There is still standing water over I-90 east of Exit 357 (Bridgewater) both east and westbound. Lanes will be reduced to one along with reduced speeds and flaggers. Drivers are cautioned they will be driving through standing water and should consider alternate routes.

I-90 westbound will be reduced to one lane at the bridge just east of Exit 374.

Officials are asking that motorists DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES.

Local roads have also been hit hard by flooding and may not be an option to get around flooded state highway routes.

Drivers should check www.safetravelusa.com/sd or call 5-1-1 before traveling to plan your route, allow plenty of extra time to reach your destination and be prepared to alter your route as flood and road conditions are continuously changing. Please note, county, city and township closures are not shown on this map.
