Gov. Rhoden Signs Bill to Support Workforce Development
PIERRE, S.D. – Today, Governor Larry Rhoden signed a bill to support workforce development through the establishment of a state office of apprenticeship within the Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR), SB 63.
"The strength of our economy depends on the strength of our workforce – and South Dakota has always prided itself on excelling in both,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “By centralizing apprenticeship opportunities, we are supporting the next generation of workers to build an even stronger South Dakota.”
SB 63 was signed at a signing ceremony at the annual Governor’s Office of Economic Development Conference. Governor Rhoden was joined by representatives from DLR and several workforce development stakeholders. You can find a photo of the signing here.
Governor Rhoden has signed 55 bills into law and vetoed one this legislative session.
