Pierre - The need for increased production facilities has prompted Ehresmann Engineering of Yankton to expand, a move that will create 15 jobs, Chris Braendlin, commissioner, Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced today, June 18, 2002.

"This is a family-owned operation that has been in Yankton since 1983. The fact that this company continues to expand and grow in South Dakota is a strong testimony for our business climate and the quality of labor in the Yankton area," Braendlin said.

The company, which designs, engineers and manufactures communication towers, will construct a 12,000 square foot facility next to its existing facility. "These positions require the type of technical skills that are taught at the Southeast Technical Institute Branch in Yankton. This is an excellent example of how the partnership between industry and education has a strong impact on economic development in our state," Braendlin said.

Yankton Area Progressive Growth is pleased that this company decided to expanded at its existing facility, said Ron Kraft, executive director of Yankton Area Progressive Growth.

"Ehresmann Engineering has sold communication towers all over the world. This company has played a big role in bringing new money into the Yankton and South Dakota economies," Kraft concluded.
