TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION AWARDS BIDS
PIERRE, SD – Governor Mike Rounds announced today the Transportation Commission awarded $25 million dollars in bids for upcoming road construction and maintenance projects. A total of 31 projects were included in the awards. Information on the largest contracts, including the type of project, location, low bid and contractor to perform the work are as follows:
Meade County
Replacing the I-90 interchange at Exit 32 in SturgisI-90. Includes grading and placing a concrete surface on 8 miles of I-90 and deck overlays on two bridges over Deadman Gulch. Work also includes adding curb and gutter and signing. Heavy Construction, Inc. of Rapid City, SD was awarded the $11.6 million contract.
Meade County
Grading and asphalt paving of ½ mile of Forest Highway #26 to Exit 32 in Sturgis. Work includes installing curb and gutter and a storm sewer. Heavy Construction Inc. of Rapid City, SD was awarded the $1.2 Million contract.
Corson County
Grading, interim surfacing and signing of 11 miles of SD 63 from south of McLaughlin to the North Dakota state line. Foothills Contracting Inc. of Webster, SD was awarded the $4.2 million contract.
Bon Homme County
Mill and resurface 8 miles of SD 37 through Springfield and north to the junction of SD 50. Brower Construction Company of Sioux City, IA was awarded the $1.1 million contract.
