New Business in Gregory to Break Ground
 
PIERRE, S.D. - Ranchers Livestock Equipment and Welding, LLC, will celebrate its groundbreaking in the GregoryIndustrial Park on Tuesday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m.The manufacturing company is expected to be in operation by mid-September of 2007 and create 30 jobs by 2010. 
 
Ranchers Livestock Equipment and Welding (Ranchers Welding) manufactures creep feeders, self feeders, corral panels, windbreak panels, feeder wagons, silage troughs, feed panels, bale feeders and ammonia carts.
 
"Ranchers Livestock Equipment and Welding is a great fit for South Dakota," said Gov. Mike Rounds. "I'm excited to welcome this international company to our state. The company not only creates opportunities for the Gregory community, it also supports our agricultural community by providing a quality product for our farmers and ranchers in South Dakota."
 
Ranchers Welding received $500,000 of support from the state's Revolving Economic Development & Initiative (REDI) Fund.
 
Gary Tyhy, owner of Ranchers Welding, also owns three other companies in Canada that manufacture grain, seed and fertilizer material handling equipment and bulk fertilizer flat storage, as well manufacture off set mower hitches and gravel packers for county road maintenance.
 
"When demand in the Midwest region grew, I wanted to find a new location to expand. South Dakota really set itself apart as the ideal location for my business," said Tyhy. "This facility in Gregory will help us service our clientele in the region more efficiently. The community and state have been extremely supportive in this endeavor - I anticipate great success in Gregory." 
 
"The community of Gregory and surrounding areas are very pleased to welcome Ranchers Welding. We've already heard from college students who want to come home to South Dakota and think this company will be a good fit," said Ron Kyburz, chairman of the Gregory Business and Industrial Development Corporation. 
 
Ranchers Welding will hire a sales representative, office manager, production supervisor and general manager in addition to welders, painters and maintenance personnel. The company will offer a health plan to its employees.
