Award-winning authors, illustrators signing State Historical Society books across state
PIERRE, S.D.—Three authors and illustrators who have published books with the South Dakota State Historical Society Press will be making book-signing appearances this coming weekend in central and western South Dakota. Each of the authors and illustrators has won national awards for their children’s books over the past few years.
David Volk, co-author of The Mystery of the Pheasants, will make appearances at Prairie Pages in Pierre on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5-6:30 p.m. (CST); at The Journey Museum in Rapid City on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5-8 p.m. (MST); and at Mitzi’s Books in Rapid City on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (MST)
S. D. Nelson, author and illustrator of Greet the Dawn: The Lakota Way, will sign copies at The Journey Museum in Rapid City on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5-8 p.m. (MST), and at Prairie Edge in Rapid City on Saturday, Dec. 1, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (MST). Nelson will also visit Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, on Nov. 30, to meet with the students there.
Donald F. Montileaux, illustrator of Tatanka and the Lakota People and The Enchanted Buffalo, will sign books at The Journey Museum in Rapid City on Friday, Nov. 30, from 5-8 p.m. (MST)
