Office of Tourism Reaches out to Motorcycle Enthusiasts

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Office of Tourism is reaching out to motorcycle enthusiasts with a brand new collateral piece designed to showcase some of South Dakota’s best rides.

The motorcycling guide highlights 11 breathtaking routes in each of South Dakota’s four regions. Descriptive details accompany each of the 11 routes. Other guide features include beautiful imagery, a message of welcome from Gov. Mike Rounds, South Dakota State Parks information, Sturgis and other motorcycle event information and South Dakota motorcycle laws. The map also details the locations of Interstate Information Centers and rest areas.

“By partnering with motorcycle dealers across South Dakota, we are more effectively reaching true motorcycle enthusiasts,” said Billie Jo Waara, director of the South Dakota Office of Tourism. “Through their support and input, we are showcasing the routes and destinations that appeal to this unique audience.”

The Office of Tourism partnered with the following dealers in the creation of the publication: Black Hills Harley Davidson of Rapid City, Deadwood and Hill City; Petersen Harley-Davidson, Honda and Kawasaki of Pierre; J & L Harley-Davidson of Sioux Falls; Sturgis Harley-Davidson; Glacial Lake Harley-Davidson of Watertown; Rice Honda Suzuki-Victory of Rapid City; MidAmerica Motoplex of Sioux Falls; and The Motocycle Shop of Watertown.

The Office of Tourism printed 75,000 copies of the motorcycling guide. The publications are available at Interstate Information Centers, participating dealers and by request from the Office of Tourism at (605) 773-3301.
