State Prison Inmate Nathan Chase Placed on Escape Status

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- A minimum-security state prison inmate has been placed on escape status.

Inmate Nathan Chase walked away from the Sioux Falls Community Work Center August 12 without authorization.

Chase, age 38, is a white male. He is 5-feet-6 inches tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Chase is serving a 2-year sentence for failure to appear out of Lyman County.

Leaving a non-secure correctional facility without authorization constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by a maximum of 5 years in prison.
