Inmate Kevan Whiteman back in custody

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.- A state prison inmate who left a community work center last month is back in custody.

Kevan Whiteman, age 21, was arrested in Minnehaha County on Oct. 14. He is currently being held at the Minnehaha County Jail.

Whiteman and two other inmates left the minimum-security Sioux Falls Community Work Center without authorization on Sept. 4. Inmates Liberty Briley and Joseph Davis remain on escape status.

Whiteman is serving three years for possession of a controlled substance from Minnehaha County.
