Walworth County Fatal Crash

 

 

What: One-vehicle crash
Where: SD Highway 47, mile marker 213, seven miles north of Hoven, S.D.
Time:  3:07 p.m., Thursday, June 30, 2016

 

Driver: Male, 28, Fatal Injuries

Vehicle: 2016 Freightliner Service Truck

 

HOVEN, S.D. – One man was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon north of Hoven.

 

The person’s name is not being released pending notification of family members.

 

A 2016 Freightliner Service Truck was northbound on South Dakota Highway 47 when the driver lost control. The truck went into the ditch and rolled.

 

The driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating. Other responding agencies were the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Bowdle EMS, Bowdle Fire Department and Hoven EMS.
