Become the Next “Dacotah Star” at
the South Dakota State Fair

(Huron, SD) – We want your voice to be heard at the SD State Fair! Over $2000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the division winners in Dacotah Star!
Applications for the 6th Annual Dacotah Star talent competition to be held Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1, 2008, are now available online at www.sdstatefair.com or at the SD State Fair office. The deadline for entering the talent competition is Monday, August 11 at 5:00 pm.
The grand prize winner in the adult division wins the title of “2008 Dacotah Star” along with a cash prize of $1,000 with the opportunity to star in his/her own commercial promoting Dacotah Star on KTTW Fox. The winner will also perform on NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage during 2009 SD State Fair and emcee 2009 Dacotah Star. The 2007 Dacotah Star is Rick Jensen from DeSmet, SD.
Preliminary competition begins on Friday, August 29 and ends on Sunday, August 31. Dacotah Star finals will be held on Monday, September 1. The talent competition is held nightly on the NorthWestern Energy Freedom Stage at 4:30 p.m.
