Five DOH staff have been selected to participate in the 2008 North Central Public Health Leadership Institute. The institute is a partnership among Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota to build public health leadership capacity.

South Dakota’s representatives are part of a select group of 20 public health professionals from the three states. The group will complete specialized training in public health practice competencies such as working with public entities, creating organizational change, communicating risk, activating communities and building relationships with medicine. The goal of the institute is to challenge and educate public health professionals to address complex public health issues in new and innovative ways.
