State prison offender Jason Garreau has died.

Garreau, age 39, was found unresponsive in his cell at the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls May 15.

At the time of his death, Garreau was serving sentences for attempted first-degree murder from Hughes County, possession of a controlled substance by inmate from Minnehaha County, and a federal conviction for aggravated assault on law enforcement.
